Title:  What Campers Can Expect
Detail:

What Campers Can Expect

q       We strongly recommend that campers arrive with an open mind.  Many students have taken lessons from their local golf professionals and while we rarely encounter it occasionally our methods may conflict in some way.  Our purpose is to stress the proper fundamentals for the golf swing not to make radical changes to a campers swing.

q       We will be hitting a large number of practice balls during the week and any exercises/practice you can do to toughen the skin on your hands and feet would be recommended.  Don’t bring a new pair of golf shoes to golf camp; break them in long before you come to camp.  It’s okay to just wear tennis shoes.  I don’t  recommend sandals.

q       Campers should be willing to learn other parts of the game not just ball striking.  We’ll cover etiquette, course care, sportsmanship, and the rules of golf.  We’ll also develop an individualized improvement plan that students can follow once they return home for the summer.

q       On the last day of each camp we’ll have an awards program.   The program starts at 2:45.  Parents are welcome to attend this program as we honor the accomplishments of the campers for that week.

q       Each camper should get plenty of help from the instructors and counselors.  Campers are also expected to practice the skills that they’ve been taught on their own when instructors are working with others.

q       The counselors are also planning fun activities.  Swimming Party, and Kids against the Counselors Games, just to name a few.
